How to Send a Brownie Gift in Switzerland: The Details That Matter

Sending someone brownies? A little surprise can make an ordinary day feel special. To help it arrive smoothly, focus on two things: the right delivery details and a message that comes from you.

Do they need to be home? Usually, no.

Your recipient does not normally need to be home on delivery day. We send our brownies by Swiss Post Priority or A-Post Plus. In most cases, Swiss Post leaves the box in the mailbox or its parcel compartment rather than handing it over at the door. It can wait there during the day until your recipient gets home.

A day at work or a day out is usually fine. If they are on holiday or away for several days, choose a delivery date after they return. The brownies should be brought inside on delivery day. If the mailbox is in direct sun or the weather is very hot, arrange prompt collection.

A discreet “Check your mailbox this evening” keeps the contents a surprise.

The name MUST match the mailbox

The name on the delivery address MUST match the name on the mailbox. If it does not, the parcel will in most cases be returned to us. A correct street address alone is not enough. Check the exact name, especially if someone has moved or is staying with another household. Where needed, add “c/o” and the name shown on the mailbox.

This matters particularly for fresh brownies: we cannot resend a returned box because the brownies will no longer be fresh enough.

Sending brownies to a company

Include the full company name and your recipient’s name. The company name needs to appear on the address label so the delivery reaches the right business and can be passed to the right person. Add a department if useful, and choose a day when the business is open.

Sending brownies to a hospital

Write “Patient” beside the recipient’s full name. Include the full hospital name and, ideally, the ward and room number if you have them. The ward and room number are optional, but help the hospital get the box to the patient more quickly. The full name marked “Patient”, plus the hospital name and postal address, is enough.

Make sure your recipient will still be there on delivery day. Hospitals accept KULA boxes. Our hospital gift guide explains the other details to confirm.

Sending brownies to a hotel

Write “Guest” beside your recipient’s full name, then include the hotel name and full address. Let reception know a delivery is coming and check it will arrive during the stay. Add the stay dates if helpful.

Make it a gift that could only come from you

Take advantage of the personalised card included with your KULA box. Say why you are thinking of them: a specific thank-you, a shared memory or an inside joke means more than a generic greeting.

And if you want to make it extra special, take a moment to record a personal video message. Our customers love receiving these messages. Your voice, your laugh and your own words make the gift feel special and unique.

You do not need a perfect recording. Try: “I wish I could be there. Until then, here’s something sweet from me.” Or gather the family to send birthday wishes together. It is the effort and the personal connection that make it memorable.

A quick check before ordering

  • Will your recipient be around on delivery day, rather than away on holiday?
  • Does the delivery name match the mailbox exactly?
  • Have you included the company name, “Patient” or “Guest” where needed?
  • Have you written your included card message or planned a personal video?

Choose from the delivery dates available at checkout. For more address details, see our Swiss gift delivery tips.
